terms of service
These terms govern your use of does.software and any subdomain you request or operate through it. By requesting a subdomain and ticking the acceptance box on the request form, you agree to everything set out below, so please read it in full.
1. what we provide
does.software lets you request a *.does.software subdomain and put it to one or more uses, even all at once on the same name: redirect visitors to a URL (web redirect, with optional per-path rules), forward mail sent to that name to an inbox you control (email forwarding), or host a small static website you upload on it (static hosting). You can also generate QR codes that point to your subdomain. Every request is reviewed by hand and may be approved, rejected, or returned for clarification entirely at our discretion. The service is offered as a convenience and may change, pause, or end at any time.
2. eligibility and your account
You must be old enough to form a binding agreement in your country and must supply an email address at which you can actually receive mail. You are responsible for keeping your credentials safe and for everything done through your account. If you request a subdomain as a guest, the email you provide is treated as your point of contact and the same rules apply. Your account carries a unique, public username; you must choose one that does not impersonate others or infringe trademarks, and we may change or reclaim it if it does.
3. plans, trial and billing
Approval is never guaranteed. If your request is approved, the subdomain is activated at no charge: the base service is free and you need no card to use it. Optionally, you can subscribe to Pro at €5.12/month (billed once a year) for your whole account (more subdomains, more forwards, and no expiries while it is active). New names include a 14-day trial with everything unlocked, no card required. Pro payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store your card details. The subscription renews automatically each year until you cancel; on cancellation, Pro stays active until the end of the period you already paid for, after which your subdomains enter a grace period before being released. If your trial ends or your plan lapses without payment, the account switches to read-only (redirects, mail and hosted sites stop serving) and your names are held for you for a limited time before returning to the pool. Except for any withdrawal and refund rights that mandatory consumer law grants you, payments are non-refundable for periods already started. Prices may change; we will let you know before any change affects you.
4. acceptable use
You may not use a subdomain for anything unlawful, nor for phishing, malware, spam, deceptive practices, impersonation, harassment, explicit sexual or pornographic content, or content that infringes another person's rights. This applies equally to what you host and to the destination you redirect to. You are solely responsible for the destination your subdomain points to and for any mail routed through it, and for ensuring that every destination you point at also complies with these rules. We may suspend or delete any subdomain that breaks them or that we reasonably believe harms the platform or its reputation.
5. data we collect
We collect the account data you give us to sign up and operate your subdomains: your email address, username, and password (stored as a hash, never in plain text), and the pages and forwarding targets you configure. To keep the service secure we store your IP address on every login, with its date, and upload logs for any site you host (who uploads what, and from which IP). Visits to your web redirect and mail forwarded through your subdomain are counted in daily aggregate totals, with no IP or sender attached; if someone scans a QR code on the service, we do log the IP, browser, and approximate location of that scan. Payment details for Pro subscriptions are handled directly by Stripe; we never see or store your card. We keep these records for as long as we consider necessary and may store, correlate, and share them with our hosting, mail, payment, and infrastructure providers, or with the authorities where the law requires it. We do not sell your personal data.
6. suspension and removal
We may suspend, reclaim, or delete a subdomain, with or without prior notice, if it violates these terms, is left unused for an extended period, or must be freed for operational, legal, or security reasons. Where a suspension permits it, you may submit a single appeal from your panel, which we will review but are not obliged to grant.
7. no warranty
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability and, to the fullest extent permitted by law, are not liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, a subdomain or the service.
8. changes
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date shown above. Continuing to use your subdomain or account after a change takes effect means you accept the revised terms; if you do not agree, stop using the service and you may request removal of your subdomain.
9. governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Spain, and any dispute relating to them or to the service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts competent for our place of business, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have where you live.
10. Acceptable use of hosted sites (AUP)
Subdomains can serve a static website uploaded by their owner. By publishing content through does.software you agree NOT to use it for:
- Phishing or impersonation, pages that imitate another person, brand or service, or that collect credentials, payment details or personal data under false pretences.
- Malware or harmful code, distributing files or scripts designed to damage, hijack or covertly track visitors' devices or accounts.
- Illegal content, anything that violates applicable law, including content that infringes export, fraud or privacy regulations.
- Intellectual-property infringement, publishing material you don't have the rights to distribute.
- Spam and abusive SEO, doorway pages, link farms, cloaking or bulk-generated content designed to game search engines or flood inboxes.
- Sexual content involving minors, or extreme violence, zero tolerance; such content is removed and reported to the authorities where required.
We may remove content and suspend subdomains or accounts unilaterally and without prior notice when we believe this policy is being violated. Suspension of an account pauses every site it publishes.
Notice and takedown: anyone can report a subdomain to abuse@does.software, from the subdomain itself at <name>.does.software/report, or through the in-product report endpoint. We review reports diligently and remove infringing content promptly. Counter-notices can be sent to the same address.
For security and abuse investigations we retain upload logs (who uploaded what, when, from which IP, and a fingerprint of the files) for a limited time, as described in our data practices.
11. AI-assisted development
Some of this service's code and documentation is written with the help of AI tools. We review that work before it goes live, and we stay responsible for it either way.
12. dispute resolution
If you are a consumer in the EU, you can also bring a complaint through the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform. This does not replace your right to go to court.
13. copyright infringement (DMCA-style notices)
If you believe content hosted on a subdomain infringes your copyright, send a notice to abuse@does.software including: (a) a description of the copyrighted work; (b) the URL of the material you claim is infringing; (c) your contact details; (d) a statement, made in good faith, that the use is not authorized; and (e) a statement that the information is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on the copyright owner's behalf. We process these notices in a manner consistent with the U.S. DMCA notice-and-takedown process, and remove or disable access to the reported material promptly. The affected user can submit a counter-notice disputing the removal through the same address, and we may restore the material unless the original complainant files a legal action. Accounts responsible for repeated, well-founded infringement claims will be suspended.
